Now, with community support, they’re trying to start a new life in the face of government indifference. They’re the subjects of a new film, "Trouble the Water," co-directed by Tia Levin. It opens on Friday Aug. 22 at the IFC Center, and at ImageNation at the Faison Firehouse Theater (124th St. bet. St. Nicholas Avenue & Morningside).
